- Actually, the demo doesn't expire until sometime in August.

- Subject: Novell Winsock problem?
-
- I'm having trouble making a connection to gopher.tc.umn.edu using
- HGopher or Mosaic over Novell's winsock.dll. I think I've narrowed it
- down to the fact that gopher.tc resolves to several IP addresses (6 of
- them), and possibly the winsock cannot handle that. I can explicitly
- connect to one of the six IP's using HGopher. In addition, using
- LAN WorkPlace's Host Presenter telnet package (which *doesn't* use the
- winsock), I can establish a connection specifying gopher.tc.umn.edu, so
- it appears that multiple-address name resolving works in general.
-
- Has anyone else experienced this problem and/or know of a solution?

- The README file says that you're not supposed to post it anywhere else.

- Again, the README file says that it expires sometime in April '94.

- Subject: Trumpet may be causing my PC to reboot!
-
- Okay, While I'm not 100% sure that Trumpet is the cause, I'm beginning to
- think it is. I say this, because while at lunch, I left my machine running
- with CUTCP (no winsock) and it did not reboot (like monday and friday when
- Winsock was up). I exited CUTCP, waited a minute while I read my mail, and
- then went to load Trumpet up, and the computer froze for two seconds, and
- then rebooted.
-
- It seems that this is happening whenever I receive a message (mail). We are
- using a Novell network w/ NetWare and Pegasus for our mail. I have nwpopup
- running (which is supposed to display a popup window saying you have new mail
- from ...) This does not come up. Other than this I have no problems with
- either trumpet or Novell. It seems to be erratic in it's behavior.
- Sometimes it will go for hours without dying (and I can receive the
- messages), and other times, every message kills it.
-
- If anyone has clues or similar problems, I'd love to hear how to fix it!!!

- As I could see in my logfile, some people have problems logging to my PC,

- I'm using Winsock 1.0 Final beta #4
- and try to do the dialing in with an external terminal
- program like Telix (which I run in th DOS window) or
- a Windows Terminal program (but none of them will work !!
- The dialing in will work fine...first I set up the modem

- in application and open the Winsock Program ...
- but somehow the SLIP connection won"t work...
- THe Program tries to send commands trough the phone

- of the Modem flickering , but appararently somehow it
- won't get a response I think....
- I'd be glad if someone could tell me, what exactly I have
- to do when using a external dialer, so the connection
